I have been taking Nordic Naturals omega-3 fish oil capsules for over 2 years. I take their Pro-Omega formula, which is double the strength of Ultimate Omega, but they are only sold by healthcare professionals. I learned about Nordic Naturals from my sister, who is an RN. As other reviewers have written, this is a high quality, ultra-pure formulation, that has absolutely no fishy taste or smell. I can add one thing: Do not worry about getting too much vitamin A from taking them, as was suggested in a recent column in the New York Times. The Nordic Naturals capsules are not made from cod liver oil (which contains a large amount of vitamin A), and they contain zero vitamin A.
I take them with other supplements to lower my cholesterol naturally (and it's working). I also take 1,200 to 4,000 mg a day in combination with other natural anti-inflammatory supplements for low back pain. Studies in medical journals have shown that omega-3's are equally as effective as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for low back pain--without the harmful side effects. I find this to be true, and no longer need the NSAIDS for back pain.
